Cheer is going great!! We have our first competition Sunday!! It will be tons of fun!!
There is a competitive cheer gym just like where I go (Woodlands Elite) in Ohio and it is called Midwest Cheer. They had a competition this past weekend and on the way to the competition two families were in a very bad wreck. Please be praying for them. Below is what someone that goes to Midwest Cheer that was on a Woodlands Elite team years ago put on Woodlands Elite's facebook page about the wreck and how everyone is doing.
"The two families were on their way to the Americheer Competition in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday morning, they were carpooling. A car entered I-275 ...heading the wrong direction on the highway at a high rate of speed. She hit Lori Morris head on... according to the State Highway Patrol, no attempt was made to stop or swerve. The impact caused both vehicles to roll and catch on fire. Lori Morris, our booster treasurer, was killed instantly. Her older daughter Brooke, sustained a broken L3 as well as a clavicle fracture. She went to surgery last night. Her younger daughter happened to be buckled in the very back of the van and sustained minor injuries... she was released from the hospital. The other mother, Cindy Blair was in ICU at Bethesda North Hospital where she has a broken neck, broken right arm and shattered wrist. She underwent surgery this morning. Kenzy Blair, her 14yr old daughter, was thought to be dead at the scene. She was aircared to Children Hospital where she is on life support. She has 2 shattered legs, a broken pelvis, several broken bones in her face, a partially torn aorta that was operated on last night and a bleed in the brain now. It is touch and go with her, as they are closely monitoring her.Unfortunately, other families with athletes were following Lori and their children witnessed the accident Other than that... it is pretty much touch and go right now. We will be visiting the girls tomorrow and Cindy Blair as well. I don't believe we will be able to see Kenzy though. Accounts are being set up thru 5/3 bank as neither family had medical insurance and the Morris family is trying to collect money for Lori's funeral. Please ask that everyone continue praying as Kenzy is fighting for her life right now and we thank everyone for their support."
